Военные технологии на «гражданке»: разработано новое российское судно «Бобёр»

"Bobyor" Air Cushion Vehicles to Be Deployed in Remote Areas of Russia and Operate Year-Round

The Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau (part of USC) showcased civilian novelties using military technologies at the "Maritime Congress - Far East" industry congress and exhibition event in Vladivostok. The series of cargo air cushion vehicles — "Bobyor", TSVP-30, TSVP-60, and TSVP-150 — can transport 20, 30, 60, and 150 tons of cargo and passengers.

These vessels will provide hard-to-reach and remote areas of Russia with year-round connection to the rest of the world, while being easy to operate and sufficiently reliable.

According to USC, civilian vessels with military technologies will allow:

  • to transport passengers between settlements year-round and in any weather;
  • to deliver personnel to oil and gas production facilities;
  • to transport oversized cargo to unprepared gentle shores;
  • to provide rescue operations;
  • to operate on non-navigable rivers without berths and ports;
  • to operate where people and cargo are currently transported by helicopters or transport along winter roads. At the same time, such transportation can be carried out year-round and in any weather;
  • to organize complex tourist trips (combined rally-raids by road transport using air cushion vehicles for delivery to hard-to-reach places on the route).

The "Bobyor" and other air cushion vehicles are expected to be used in the Far East, in the regions of the Far North, and in hard-to-reach areas near inland waterways.
