Russia has registered its 100,000th unmanned aerial vehicle weighing from 150 grams to 30 kilograms. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya).
The "anniversary" drone was developed in Russia. As an incentive, its owner will be invited to visit the command and control center at the airport in their place of residence.
The registration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been conducted since September 27, 2019, in accordance with the Russian government decree №658 dated 25.05.2019. Rosaviatsiya receives approximately 1,500 applications per week for the registration of drones.
The top five regions in terms of the number of registered drones include:
- Moscow (17.4 thousand units),
- Saint Petersburg (10.7 thousand),
- Moscow Region (8.2 thousand),
- Krasnodar Territory (3.2 thousand),
- Sverdlovsk Region (2.6 thousand).
The agency is confident that the development of unmanned aviation will continue in Russia. This is due to the interest of citizens and companies in using civilian drones for both personal and commercial purposes.
The number of registered UAVs will continue to grow dynamically. It is gratifying that the drone registration system has been positively received by their owners, which means that the level of drone usage culture in Russia will increase.
Obtaining a registration number for a UAV allows the owner to legally use the drone. Registering a drone creates conditions for ensuring flight safety.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that drones, small aircraft, and scooters are planned to be connected to "ERA-GLONASS".
