New restrictions will also prohibit the supply of luxury cars to the republic. Currently, the sanctions regime restricts European car manufacturers from selling top models to Russia, but not to Belarus.

The new sanctions will prohibit the export to Belarus and through it of technologies and goods that can be used for military purposes, as well as liquefied natural gas. The EU will also stop importing diamonds from Belarus, which reflects the recent ban on stones of Russian origin.

According to the source, the monthly flow of auto parts and vehicles entering Belarus has increased from 50 million euros in January 2022 to 268 million euros in January this year. Most of the imports come from Poland and Belarus.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the new package of US sanctions hit Russian automakers AvtoVAZ, Aurus, Sollers and FSUE NAMI.
