The Russian company "Navis" has shown the first photos of the unmanned boat (BEC) project "Sardine". According to the developers, the new model of the vessel will differ from Russian counterparts in its non-standard hull shape and type of construction.
The applied hull shape allows, due to a significant reduction in rolling and pitching, to radically reduce the measurement errors of the BEC equipment and contributes to increasing the accuracy of observation.
The stabilization of the BEC "Sardine" is carried out by means of a fin bulb keel. This allows the vessel to be used in hydrography.
The hull of the boat is distinguished by excellent seaworthiness (buoyancy, stability, controllability, strength) due to the Wave piersing concept. It is used in the construction of high-speed and autonomous vessels.
The water jet propulsion unit received an all-aspect nozzle and two thrusters. This technical solution makes it possible to keep the vessel on a given trajectory even at low speeds.
Currently, the construction of the boat hull has been completed on the stocks, and the installation of engines and propulsion units is underway. The BEC "Sardine" is planned to be tested this summer.
