The Victory Parade took place on Red Square in Moscow on May 9. Foreign guests of President Vladimir Putin watched from the stands as the mechanized column of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) with strategic Yars complexes passed by.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense stated that the column included autonomous launchers of the Yars missile system of the 54th Guards Missile Division. The calculation was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Golubev.
Missile soldiers use the highly mobile capabilities of the complex, its ability to reliably hit a target anywhere in the world.
The department added that missile formations armed with Yars remain a formidable force of nuclear deterrence. This guarantees the security of Russia.
President Vladimir Putin had previously instructed the Ministry of Defense to prepare troops for large-scale exercises using tactical nuclear weapons. Missile units of the Southern Military District, aviation and naval forces will take part in the maneuvers. Belarusian military personnel will also join the exercises.
