Три года в запасе: Россия сдвинула сроки импортозамещения в гражданской авиации

According to the new decree of President Vladimir Putin, at least 50% of the Russian aircraft fleet will consist of domestic aircraft only by 2030

The Russian aviation industry has been given an additional three years to develop production to volumes that will cover 50% of the domestic civil aviation fleet. This is stated in the decree "On the National Development Goals of the Russian Federation for the Period up to 2030 and for the Future up to 2036," signed by President Vladimir Putin on May 7.

According to the document, the development of the import-substituting aviation industry is part of the tasks of the national goal "A Comfortable and Safe Environment for Life." It is noted that by 2030 "the aviation mobility of Russians should increase by at least 50% compared to the 2023 figure". That is, people should fly more often, and there should be more planes.

At the same time, by 2030, the share of domestically produced aircraft in the fleet of Russian air carriers should be at least 50%. Previously, such indicators for import substitution of air transport were set for 2027, and by 2030 it was planned to use up to 81.8% of domestic aircraft in transportation.

In January 2024, it became known that by 2030 Russia will produce more than a thousand civil aircraft: from airliners to light aircraft. According to the government's decree, it is planned to allocate 865.6 billion rubles for these purposes.

However, later both UAC, the main manufacturer of these aircraft, and the Rostec State Corporation, a subsidiary of which UAC is, announced the postponement of deliveries of their products.

Thus, the medium-range MC-21 will enter service not in 2024, but in 2025-2026. Its tests were not completed within the previously planned timeframe. The start of deliveries of the SJ-100 with Russian PD-8 engines is postponed to 2026, shifting by two years. The serial production of the Tu-214 is also being postponed by at least a year.
