РЖД запускает первую беспилотную «Ласточку» на МЦК

Final Preparations Underway

Russian Railways has announced the final preparations for the launch of the first driverless Lastochka train on the MCC. You will be able to see it and ride it this summer.

Test runs are being conducted to help break in the drone. The debut electric train on the MCC corresponds to the third level of automation. This means that during the trip, there is still a driver in the cab, although he does not actually control the electric train directly, but monitors the situation through a computer.

It is known that Russian Railways is already testing electric trains with the fourth level of automation. When using this technology, the presence of a driver in the cab is not required: the rolling stock is controlled automatically, under the remote control of a driver-operator. The first fully unmanned Finist electric train is scheduled to launch in Moscow in 2026.
