Specialists from Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU) have developed a non-alcoholic red wine that, according to laboratory studies, can protect a patient's kidneys during radiological examinations.
Scientists at BelSU claim that dealcoholized wine protects the kidneys from damage caused by radiopaque examinations. It was produced based on northern grape varieties, selected and grown by the university's geneticist-breeders in their own botanical garden.
This drink has a high content of antioxidants, which makes it a valuable tool for the prevention of endothelial dysfunction in systemic inflammation, including post-COVID syndrome. A specially designed installation, created by the university's physicists, allows removing alcohol from wine, preserving and even increasing the volume of polyphenols and other beneficial substances.
The research was conducted as part of the project "Development of genetic technologies in plant breeding of economically valuable crops using Vitis vinifera as an example" of the "Priority-2030" program.
Earlier, www1.ru wrote that at the Russian University of Biotechnology, scientists invented a wine that allows you to drink and fight excess weight. The vermouth-like wine drink was enriched with mushroom extract. And in Siberia, scientists at IC&G SB RAS managed to develop a tobacco variety with a minimal nicotine content.
