The Kalashnikov Concern has decided to restore and return the clock to the tower of the main building of the Izhevsk Arms Factory. The repair work is being carried out by Alexander Boltin, a locksmith in the chief engineer's department of JSC "Kalashnikov Concern".
Boltin disassembled the clock and inspected the mechanisms damaged by time. According to him, new cables will be needed for the repair. All parts need to be carefully cleaned.
The watchmaker also tidied up the clock face located on the south wall. He plans to repaint the clock hands in black.
The mechanism is currently being soaked in kerosene to wash away the dust and dirt that has accumulated in the gearbox.
The watchmaker added that it needs to be cleaned, painted and adjusted. Work on the historical site is on schedule, he concluded.
