Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of "Za Rulem" magazine, tested the new LADA Vesta with a WanLiYang CVT18 CVT and a 1.8 Evo engine (122 hp). Russian and Chinese specialists were involved in adapting the CVT to the VAZ engine.
The main advantage of the Vesta with a CVT is its excellent coordination with the 1.8 Evo engine (122 hp). The calibrations are so well chosen that you quickly forget about the "CVT-ness".
According to him, when the gas pedal is pressed hard, the CVT simulates the switching of seven quasi-gears (software gears), as if it were a regular automatic transmission (classic automatic transmission).
Regardless of the configuration, the version with a CVT is only 65 thousand rubles more expensive than the version with a manual transmission.
As a reminder, AvtoVAZ began supplying dealers with Vesta with an updated 1.8 engine and CVT CVT in early March. This CVT is familiar to Russians from the Chery Tiggo 4 with a naturally aspirated engine. For Vesta, it received not only an original control program, but also new mounts.
