Lada Granta c АКПП появилась на российском рынке

AvtoVAZ will sell about 5,000 of these cars

AvtoVAZ will release about five thousand Lada Granta cars with Japanese Jatco automatic transmission and a 98-horsepower engine. These cars are left over from old stocks. Currently, Granta is only equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

In early February, journalists reported on AvtoVAZ's plans to release a batch of cars with a Japanese "automatic" transmission. It was claimed that they would not be available for open sale, but would be intended for state orders. Now, a representative of the plant's press service has partially confirmed these insights.

As a reminder, Jatco supplied continuously variable transmissions and automatic transmissions to the Russian market until 2022 as part of a collaboration with Renault. Then the French automaker sold its stake in AvtoVAZ and left Russia. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, stated that the amount of the deal to sell the Renault Moscow plant and a stake in AvtoVAZ to the Russian authorities amounted to 1 ruble. Under the terms of the deal, the French auto giant can buy back its stake within five to six years.
