The Saratov region continues to engage in import substitution of automotive components in the context of sanctions and production independence. They have recently started producing new components and spare parts for both domestic cars and Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. Balakovo Industrial Rubber Products has also developed new product units for AvtoVAZ.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov Region, in 2023, Balakovo Industrial Rubber Products replaced parts from Turkey for AvtoVAZ: two types of engine hoses for Lada Granta and a radiator hose for Lada Vesta. In addition, Balakovo Industrial Rubber Products hoses are now installed on absolutely all models of Lada passenger cars.
But that's not all. Saratov residents have replaced a German supplier of transmission seals for the Lada NIVA Legend and Lada NIVA Travel projects and have mastered the production of three parts for the updated 1.8-liter 16-valve Lada sedan engine. The development of domestic engine mounts for passenger cars is also underway - and this may not only be products for AvtoVAZ.
