SKB Turbina (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding of Rostec State Corporation) has launched serial production of turbochargers for diesel engines, locomotives, small vessels, and special equipment. In particular, the Chelyabinsk TKR201 series turbochargers will be supplied to the 6DM-185T engine for TEM14M shunting locomotives.
For more than half a century, the plant's engineers have developed over 30 types of turbochargers used to increase the power of an internal combustion engine without fundamentally interfering with its design. In the ongoing project, turbochargers will be assembled exclusively from domestic components, so the level of localization is 100%.
Russian products will replace manufacturers from Switzerland and Austria, who dominated the domestic turbocharger market. It is planned to produce up to 360 units per year, which will account for up to 6.5% of the Russian market.
The launch of serial production required 102.6 million rubles. They were allocated by the Industrial Development Fund and the FRP of the Chelyabinsk Region under the joint program "Development Projects" in the form of a concessional loan.
According to the regional Ministry of Industry, the production will provide jobs for 66 specialists, with 43 of these jobs being highly productive. 15 jobs have already been created, 14 of which are highly productive.
