Контроль Черного моря и закрытых акваторий: ВМФ России получит морские версии дронов-камикадзе

The strike drone can be launched directly from the deck of a ship

Russian engineers have reached the final stage of creating a shipborne version of a kamikaze strike drone that can be launched directly from the deck. This was reported by an informed source in the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The developments are currently kept secret. However, it is known that the kamikaze drone can be used against:

  • light boats
  • motor boats
  • unmanned boats
  • to support naval infantry during landing on the shore

Effective Means of Destruction, But There Are Difficulties

Kamikaze strike drones have proven their effectiveness in combat operations. They have established themselves as reliable and high-precision weapons that are necessary during assaults. They are also used for strikes against artillery and enemy warehouses.

The naval version of kamikaze drones has its advantages, but there are also disadvantages

There are no landmarks at sea. And controlling the flight over water is difficult. Different navigation is needed
military expert Dmitry Boltenkov

In addition, Boltenkov emphasized that launching a drone from a ship during rolling is not easy. Iranian specialists have already solved this problem, and perhaps they will be able to share their experience, he suggested.

Control of the Black Sea and Enclosed Water Areas

It is important that naval strike drones will be able to hit port facilities without getting close to the shore. With their help, it is possible to control the Black Sea, Boltenkov added.

Ex-commander of the Pacific Fleet Sergei Avakyants also agrees with Boltenkov that naval unmanned weapon systems are a promising direction. But this does not mean that Russia will abandon the traditional fleet.

The use of drones will still not completely displace traditional ships and submarines operated by people
Sergei Avakyants

According to him, shipborne drones will be able to be used in closed or limited water areas, including the Baltic Sea. Under certain weather conditions, they will perform important tasks for the fleet, Avakyants summarized.

Earlier, KMZ developed the first unmanned boat for the Russian Ministry of Defense
