Finnish Customs announced that cars with Russian license plates must leave the country by March 16. This decision was made as part of the European Union's sanctions policy against Russia.
Sami Rakshita, a representative of Finnish Customs, stated that after the specified date, investigations will be initiated regarding cars registered in the Russian Federation. However, the agency did not specify whether their confiscation is planned.
Baltic countries previously supported the sanctions. Latvia warned that it would confiscate Russian cars from February 15. Lithuania announced the confiscation of cars with Russian license plates from March 11.
How will Russia respond?
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow would not leave Vilnius' actions unanswered. The ministry called it "an act of robbery at the state level."
We urge Russians to minimize the risks to their property
The ministry asked Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to the Baltic states due to their hostile actions.
