The Ministry of Industry and Trade was asked to change the requirements for the component base

Russian TV manufacturers have asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to change the requirements for the component base in order to include their products in the register of TV devices. The issue concerns lowering the threshold for the share of domestically produced components. Currently, only the "Kvant" brand is included in the register.

Ivan Kulemanov, a member of the Korean Information Display Society, stated that the register will give manufacturers the opportunity to have preferences in government procurement. This is the "second one out" rule: if several companies participate in a tender, the customer is obliged to choose a product from the Ministry of Industry and Trade register. The innovation will help Russian manufacturers to push LG and Samsung TVs, which are imported through parallel imports, out of the market.

The expert added that government companies are still purchasing foreign equipment. However, given the difficulties with logistics, prices for Russian models look more attractive.

To be included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a TV should have no more than 70% of foreign components. And from January 2025, this threshold will be reduced to 60%. At the same time, almost all Russian TVs cannot meet this parameter, market participants clarified.

But if you use Russian processors, then the final product will not be thin, the source explained. TV device manufacturers hope that over time, the development of domestic microelectronics will allow assembling equipment only from Russian components.
