"High-Precision Systems" has delivered another batch of modernized BMP-1 AM "Basurmanin" infantry fighting vehicles to the Ministry of Defense.
According to the manufacturers, the Rubtsovsk Engineering Plant of "High-Precision Systems" has completely repaired or, if necessary, replaced all the main components and assemblies of these combat vehicles with new ones.
Before being sent to the customer, the equipment underwent all the necessary types of testing. In particular, each BMP fired at least 70 rounds from a 30-millimeter cannon in different modes and at least 150 rounds from a machine gun.
The BMP-1 AM "Basurmanin" with a modernized combat module was first presented at "Army-2018". The development, based on one of the world's most famous infantry fighting vehicles, is equipped with:
- 30-mm combat module from the BTR-82A with an automatic cannon;
- 7.62-mm PKTM machine gun;
- Fire control system with a combined all-day anti-aircraft sight;
- Two-plane weapon stabilizer.
The "Basurmanin" is also equipped with the "Metis" anti-tank complex. This ATGM strikes tanks and armored targets, penetrating at least 900-950 mm of armor.
The "Basurmanin" differs from its progenitor, the BMP-1, in its ability to effectively engage lightly armored vehicles at ranges of up to two kilometers, as well as low-flying aerial targets, including drones and helicopters. In addition, the "Basurmanin" has improved buoyancy and seaworthiness due to the installation of displacement wings.
