Sber's Robotics Center has begun searching for specialists to work on artificial intelligence for robots that will control their "physical embodiments." The AI will be based on a multimodal neural network.
It is expected that the neural network will be able to plan the robot's movements and navigation in space. The AI should learn on its own or with a minimum number of demonstrations. This is part of a project to create an anthropomorphic (humanoid) robot. The development of such robots was mentioned in December 2023 by Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank.
According to the strategy for 2024-2026, Sberbank plans to switch to a "human-centered business model." This includes the development of "new generation" AI, thanks to which many decisions will be made online. The financial institution's investments in the development of AI will reach 450 billion rubles.
Currently, Sber has several types of robots at its disposal: a sommelier, a disinfector, and a warehouse automation system.
Earlier, the company Promobot presented its anthropomorphic robot "Ardi" at an exhibition at VDNKh.
