Developers from Perm presented the anthropomorphic (human-like) robot "Ardi" (RDI) at the "Russia" exhibition, which is taking place at VDNKh in Moscow. The smiling and winking android delighted visitors to the forum.
RDI is the brainchild of the companies "Promobot" and "Double W Expo". It is known that the robot was created on the basis of Robo-C using Motion Capture technology (we are talking about animatronic robots that copy human facial expressions and gestures).
Work on it lasted about a year. Perm developers say they are ready to send RDI into mass production.
According to information presented on the "Promobot" website, the company produces robots that perform the functions of a concierge, consultant, promoter, guide, administrator, and diagnostician. The robot communicates with humans through embedded artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Androids move independently and go to recharge when their battery is discharged. "Promobot" specialists provide technical support for robots.
Earlier it was reported that at the end of 2022, robot sales in the hospitality sector (tourism, entertainment) increased by 125%. Users around the world are also showing interest in service robots.
