Developers from Perm have introduced an anthropomorphic (human-like) robot «Ardi» (RDI) at the «Russia» exhibition, which takes place at VDNKH in Moscow. The smiling and winking android delighted the forum's visitors.
RDI is a brainchild of «Promobot» and «Double U Expo» companies. It's known that the robot was created based on Robo-C using Motion Capture technologies (we are talking about animatronic robots that mimic a human's facial expressions and gestures).
The work on it lasted about a year. Perm developers claim they are ready to send RDI to serial production.
According to the information provided on the «Promobot» website, the company produces robots that perform the functions of a concierge, consultant, promoter, guide, administrator, diagnostician. The interaction between the robot and a human is thanks to the implemented artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Androids independently move and go to charge when their battery has run out. «Promobot» specialists provide technical support for robots.
It was previously reported that the sales of robots in the hospitality sector (tourism, entertainment) increased by 125% by the end of 2022. Users around the world are also showing interest in service robots.
