The Kalashnikov concern is building a new large workshop for the production of ammunition. The expansion is necessary, as the state contract for defense products has increased many times over this year. Ten times more drones alone will be produced in 2024.
The new workshop with an area of 2000 sq.m. is designed to install more than 20 vacuum and tempering furnaces for heat treatment of blanks for future projectile parts. All equipment is equipped with modern software, which allows automating the heat treatment process and more accurately controlling its parameters.
It is noted that since 2023, this is the third site launched at the concern's high-precision production facility related to special equipment and government orders.
Earlier it became known that the largest Russian manufacturer of combat, pneumatic, service pistols and self-defense weapons, the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (part of the Kalashnikov concern), intends to invest more than 170 million rubles in the modernization of the tool division.
