The Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise "Tekhnologiya" named after A. G. Romashin of the Rostec State Corporation has launched the production of domestic glazing for the cockpit of the MC-21 medium-range passenger aircraft. It is planned to supply 12 sets of products to the customer in 2024, and more than 70 sets per year by 2030.
The bird-resistant glazing of the MC-21 cockpit includes two windshields, two side windows and two rear glass blocks, which consist of hardened silicate glasses glued with a polymer film. They are equipped with electric heating, which eliminates icing and fogging in various climatic conditions.
The glazing is made of domestic materials, meets the requirements of the design documentation and ensures the comfort and safety of the flight crew
Andrey Silkin emphasized that the company's production facilities allow the production of glazing for the cockpit in accordance with the MC-21 production schedule. The forces of Tekhnologiya's subsidiary, NITS named after V.F. Solinov, were also involved in the production process.
