Не получится забыть: Сбербанк разработал новый информационно-платежный терминал, в котором не будет картридера

The new model will replace most existing devices, minimizing the possibility of forgetting a card inside the terminal

Sberbank plans to introduce an innovative information and payment terminal (IPT) in the spring, which will allow making payments without using a card reader. This terminal model will replace a significant portion of existing devices. This was announced by Tatyana Galkina, Senior Vice President and Head of the "Sales Network" block at Sber.

The new terminal model will be able to accept new hundred-ruble bills, which will make using the terminal even more convenient for users. Currently, according to Galkina, 75% of Sber's ATM fleet accepts these bills, and by the end of the first quarter, this figure will reach 95%.

The main difference of the new terminal will be the absence of a card reader, which will allow transactions without the need to insert a card and will make use safer for customers. Users will be able to make contactless payments using a card or smartphone via the "Sberbank Online" application using a QR code.

The absence of a card reader reduces to zero the probability of forgetting a card in the device.

Galkina also noted that in the first half of the year, the bank plans to install 2.5 thousand new IPTs, replacing most of the fleet. She emphasized that more than 75% of all transactions are already carried out in Sberbank devices without using a card reader, which indicates the readiness of customers for new technologies.
