RT-Invest (part of Rostec) has recycled 140 thousand tons of recyclable materials in 12 months. The waste is used to manufacture paper products and glass containers, the corporation's press service reported.
Among the fractions that can be reused in production, more than 40 thousand tons are glass. It is used to produce containers for drinks.
In addition, RT-Invest sent 35 thousand tons of plastic. It goes to granules, which are then added to materials in the manufacture of furniture, clothing, shoes, and kitchen utensils.
Recycling companies received 20 thousand tons of waste paper. After processing, it is used to make paper for packaging and cardboard of various densities.
Metal is also a popular raw material for recycling. RT-Invest also sent 18 thousand tons of metal. It will be melted down and used to create foil and spare parts.
From 140 thousand tons of recyclables, 3 million bicycles, 5 million textbooks, and 8 million bottles can be made. The integrated waste management system implemented by RT-Invest involves the complete recycling of waste with zero landfilling.
