The second World Defense Show 2024 has started in Riyadh. Russia is participating in it along with delegations from more than 45 countries and will present its innovative defense industry developments. The aviation sector is represented by UAC.
"Perviy Tehnicheskiy" has already written about the flagship of the Russian aircraft industry at this exhibition -modernized by more than 70% Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft.
The Russian military aviation industry, in addition to it, is also represented by the MiG-35 and Su-75 Checkmate.
The MiG-35 light multirole fighter is considered the best in its class - both it and its MiG-35D version belong to the 4++ generation using 5th generation fighter technologies. Since 2019, single-seat and two-seat fighters have been entering the balance of the Ministry of Defense, and they have already gained combat experience in the special military operation zone.
The MiG-35 operates around the clock and in various weather conditions, including the most difficult ones. It destroys various air targets, strikes mobile and stationary ground and surface targets using guided and unguided weapons. It can directly engage in combat with fourth and fifth generation fighters and carry out strikes with high-precision weapons, and perform the role of an airborne command post for aviation groups.
When developing this fighter, the developers incorporated radar stealth and the ability to refuel in the sky. The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 24.5 tons and carries a maximum external load of 6.5 tons.
The MiG-35 can carry air-to-air and air-to-surface guided missiles, conventional and guided aerial bombs, bomb containers from 100 to 500 kg, and unguided missiles on nine external hardpoints. Among other things, the fighter has its own automatic 30-millimeter cannon.
The MiG-35 is capable of speeds up to 2,100 km/h. Its practical ceiling is estimated at 16 km, and its maximum flight range is 3,000 km. At the same time, operational overloads can be up to 9G.
The Su-75 Checkmate light fifth-generation fighter has not yet had any experience "in the field." However, it already has a number of potential customers - they are participating in the design of the aircraft, expressing wishes about its technical changes. It is already known that such improvements willmake the fighter more attractive on the market and optimize its cost.
The single-engine Su-75 Checkmate has several versions: a fully unmanned version, versions for one and two pilots, and a version with a replaceable nose compartment. Depending on the combat missions, in the latter version, the pilot's cabin isreplaced with the head part of the drone.
The fighter can accelerate to a speed of Mach 2 and carry 7.4 tons of combat load in the form of air-to-air and air-to-ground aviation weapons. Checkmate is capable of opening simultaneous fire on six targets within a combat radius of 3,000 kilometers.
It uses the most advanced developments, including an open construction architecture in the interests of the customer and unique artificial intelligence technologies. The documentation required for the serial production of the fighter is alreadycompleted and put in order.
