AvtoVAZ's "daughter", the "St. Petersburg Automobile Plant", has officially presented the brandunder the new "X" sign in an oval. It is called XCITE - and it is positioned as"the first own project in the new history of the automobile plant". The name has English roots - it comes from "to excite" -"to excite, to stir up".
According to the press service of the enterprise, several thousand cars have already been assembled at the plant. Now they are accumulating them in warehouses to start sales in the spring of 2024 - assaid in a recent interview with the Russia 24 TV channel, AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov.
The plant promisesnow and in the future "the production of a number of models in close cooperation with international partners". It was also previously announced at the parent AvtoVAZ - there they intend tocreate and launch into mass production 12 new car models in various price segments by 2030.
The plant plans to reveal all the details about the first model under the new brand at the end of February. However, it is known that the brand's corporate colors will be at least yellow and green.
Unofficial sources believe that the"international partners" with whom production is being launched are China, and the Chinese auto concern is Chery.
Insiders of thematic channels and publics say that Chery Tiggo 7 Prohave been assembled at the plant since the fall of 2023 without emblems and nameplates. Andthe first car leaked to the Network, which was attributed to the series assembled in St. Petersburg, is very similar to the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
