The Ramensky Instrument-Making Plant has received a patent for a device for direct laser command guidance of guided missiles. According to model tests, the development will increase the range and accuracy of missiles.
The patent materials note that the invention relates to optical instrument engineering. Unlike analogues, instead of a continuous laser, a laser command guidance system is introduced to the target. It consists of an pulse-periodic emitter, a block for forming a sequence of radiation pulses, and a radiation guidance system.
It is specified that the accuracy of missile guidance does not depend on the distance to the target. In addition, the development allows a soldier to simultaneously guide two missiles by quickly switching the guidance system.
Earlier, the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation stated that aviation missiles with a range of 310 km were modernized. They received an increased warhead. The Russian Aerospace Forces also have the longest-range R-37 missile in the world.
