The modernized T-72B3M tanks, recently shown by the Russian Ministry of Defense during training, have received a new update - enhanced protection against kamikaze drones and artillery. The field modification by tankers has made the T-72B3M practically invulnerable.
The tank became heavier by several tons after the modernization. There appeared:
- lattice screens with dynamic protection elements around the entire perimeter of the hull;
- additional armor plates on the sides of the tank;
- additional armor plates on the sides of the tank;
- steel chains on the chase between the turret and the hull, which dissipate the cumulative jet upon impact
- a new anti-drone dome on the tank's turret;
- additional dynamic protection and armor plates on the frontal projection and the driver's seat.
Also, a homemade mine trawl with a protective screen for the bottom can now be installed on the front of the tank.
This did not particularly affect the speed - it remains more than 60 kilometers per hour.
