Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Evmenov: naval aviation of the fleet will be reinforced with strike drones

Naval aviation of the Russian Navy will be reinforced with strike drones "Okhotnik" and "Inokhodets", said Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. According to him, the military leadership pays great attention to this area.

Evmenov added that the Russian Navy plans to increase the combat capabilities of anti-submarine and naval reconnaissance aviation by modernizing the fleet of aircraft. In particular, we are talking about Tu-142MZ, Il-38 and Ka-27, Ka-31R helicopters, as well as the creation of promising anti-submarine aviation complexes. Re-equipment with 4++ generation aircraft (which includes the Su-30SM2) and Ka-52K attack helicopters is expected.

The Okhotnik drone was developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau (part of the UAC). It has a take-off weight of 20 tons and flies at a speed of up to 1000 km/h.

"Inokhodets" is a strike version of the Orion reconnaissance drone. The aircraft is made of composite materials and is almost invisible to enemy radars. It is capable of carrying bombs and missiles weighing 20 kg, 50 kg and 100 kg.
