Как у NASA, только лучше: в МАИ разрабатывают беспилотник роторного типа для изучения Венеры

The Ingenuity Helicopter for Mars Exploration Inspired a MAI Graduate Student to Create His Own Design

Alexey Sheremet, a graduate student at the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), has been developing a maneuverable rotary drone for Venus exploration since 2020. The aircraft will be able to move above the planet's surface and land.

The drone's task is to take pictures of the surface and map the terrain of Venus. Using sensors to measure temperature and pressure, the device will be able to study the gas composition of the planet and climatic conditions.

Sheremet admitted that he was inspired to create the drone by the NASA Ingenuity helicopter, launched to Mars with a research mission. The MAI graduate student's development was recognized at the international conference "Aviation and Cosmonautics", as well as at the Gagarin and Korolev readings.

It was previously reported that NPO Lavochkin is developing the "Boomerang" project, which involves a flight to Mars' moon Phobos to collect samples.
