Стало известно, как будет выглядеть «ядро» будущей Российской орбитальной станции

The prototype of the nodal module - the "Prichal" module - has already been tested on the ISS

RSC Energia has shown what the nodal module of the future Russian Orbital Station will look like. During the fifty years of ROS service, three generations of various modules will be able to change there.

According to the developers' idea, it is a sphere with six docking nodes. Any modules can be docked to it and then replaced in almost any quantity, like in a constructor set. The nodal module will have a minimum of service systems and an increased service life compared to other ROS modules.

When it needs to be replaced, it will simply be necessary to dock a new "core" to it in another place. After that, the old module will be able to undock and leave the orbit.

The presentation of the Russian Orbital Station, its basic, scientific and commercial modules is not the only achievement of Russia in space in the past year. "Pervyi Tekhnicheskiy", together with Roscosmos, recalled the most striking events of 2023 for Russian cosmonautics and Russian satellite construction that you might have missed.
