Sberbank continues to develop the field of robotics after the successful implementation of a number of projects, including the creation of disinfection and sommelier robots, and SberShuttle.
According to Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, work has begun on anthropomorphic (human-like) models.
Western companies are the first there now, but we are aiming for leadership in this direction
Sberbank's Robotics Laboratory appeared in 2017. Together with foreign partners, Russian engineers have developed a robot control system based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that allows them to interact with various objects.
Sberbank's report on the development of robotics, published in September 2023, notes that anthropomorphic robots are more likely to attract venture investors because they allow unlocking the potential of large language models.
Currently, South Korea is the leader in robot density, with 1012 robots per 10,000 employees. In Russia, there are 8 robots per 10,000 employees.
There are about 3.9 million industrial robots in the world. Russia ranks 9th in the ranking of countries by the number of manufacturers of service robots. The first place belongs to the USA. The report indicates that the Skolkovo Foundation is making a large contribution to the development of the domestic service robotics industry.
Earlier it was reported that the anthropomorphic robot RDI, developed by Perm specialists on the basis of Robo-C, was shown at VDNH.
