The Russian technology company Neurobiotics has shown in a video how to control the Geoscan Pioneer Mini drone using the NeuroPlay-6C neuroheadset.
The operator demonstrated how mental commands work. The drone hovers in the air in a neutral mental state, moves forward when concentrating, and turns when relaxed.
NeuroPlay-6C was developed by the domestic company Neuroassistive Technologies. The neuroheadset is a six-channel wireless bioamplifier for recording electrical brain activity (EEG, an indicator of brain neuron activity - editor's note www1.ru) in the form of a removable headband.
With brain activity, a fast, irregular beta rhythm is recorded (frequency from 14 to 30 Hz with a fluctuation amplitude of 5−30 μV), during relaxation an alpha rhythm is observed (frequency from 8 to 14 Hz, with a fluctuation amplitude of 30-70 μV). By recognizing these signals, the drone executes the operator's commands.
Earlier www1.ru wrote that programmers shared a script on Github, with which the brain-computer interface connects to the drone. It can be used by other developers.
