Lipetsk Mechanical Plant (LMZ), part of the Kalashnikov Group, plans to start repairing military equipment, focusing on anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). The company is currently reconstructing its facilities, manufacturing the necessary tooling, and training personnel in order to start operations in 2024. The CEO of the Group, Vladimir Lepin, expressed confidence that the repair of SAM systems will become an important order for the plant, in addition to the production of serial products.
According to Lepin, LMZ plans to not only restore its own equipment, but also repair products from other enterprises. The plant is ready to fulfill this task due to the availability of the necessary space, qualified personnel and suitable infrastructure.
LMZ is already a key manufacturer of self-propelled tracked chassis for the S-300VM and S-300V4 SAM systems. In addition, the company specializes in the production of dynamic protection containers and protective lattice screens for armored vehicles.
