The import-substituted KamAZ-6595 dump truck has rolled off the assembly line, passed tests in the assembly shop, and is awaiting shipment to the Scientific and Technical Center in Naberezhnye Chelny, the plant's press service reported.
Vladimir Araslanov, Head of the Assembly Production Efficiency Analysis Department at KamAZ, said that the updated version of the dump truck is "resistant" to sanctions. In particular, the KamAZ-6595 three-axle truck received a pedal unit, mirrors, windshield, and more components from new manufacturers. Localized components have been installed on the gearbox, and the electro-hydraulic power steering and pneumatic brake actuators have also been replaced.
The modified dump truck is equipped with a P6 engine with a capacity of 460 hp. The fuel tank volume is 500 liters. The advantages of the KamAZ-6595 include an increased body volume of 20 tons. The truck is protected from stones by a stamped steel bumper, and a metal mesh covers the lighting equipment.
According to the plant's press service, KamAZ specialists have begun work on updating the 65951 four-axle heavy truck. The company is confident that the new trucks will be in demand among buyers.
The main competitor of domestic construction equipment manufacturers is China. Currently, Russian trucks account for less than 30% of the market, while Chinese trucks account for more than 61%. In 2023, sales of trucks manufactured in China increased by 312.6% to 72.6 thousand vehicles. And the volume of sales of Russian trucks increased by only 1.6% to 34.9 thousand units.
Earlier, photos of the Atlant-49 Robocop unmanned mining dump truck were published during transportation to the Scientific and Technical Center in Naberezhnye Chelny. The special equipment was compared to a Hollywood cyborg.
