Russia and CIS's largest social network, VKontakte, is experiencing issues today. Users in Telegram and other messengers are reporting that they cannot access their accounts. Some users can log in via the browser tab in the desktop version, but access to communities or updating the news feed is not possible.
The Brand Analytics monitoring system shows that reports of problems began to arrive at 15:15 Moscow time.
The timeframe for restoring the site and application is currently unknown.
However, it is already known that the problems are related to a failure on the VKontakte equipment side. Emergency recovery work has begun and is underway.
Updated: As of 17:50, our editorial team has found a way out. We discovered that if you go to the VKontakte page via the domain name "https://vk.com/", you can access your profile, as well as your communities. However, when trying to update the news feed, the system still fails.
As of 19:55, the VKontakte press service reported the complete restoration of the social network after the failure. All social network services are now available to users again.
