Vladimir Solovyov, General Designer of RSC Energia, stated that the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) being developed, which will replace Russia's participation in the International Space Station (ISS), will be operated for half a century. This period is necessary to develop technologies for interplanetary manned flights, he explained.

According to Solovyov, complexes in Earth orbit should be designed in such a way that they can be used as interplanetary stations in the future.
It is known that the launch of the scientific and energy module of the ROS is scheduled for 2027. The first crew of cosmonauts will go to the station in six months. The nodal, gateway, basic and target modules will be launched into space between 2028 and 2030.
According to Roscosmos, ROS is an object with a modular architecture, which will help increase its service life. Scientific research will be carried out at the station, and it is also planned to establish orbital production.
