The state carrier JSC "RZD" has offered car companies to deliver their products by rail due to the increase in tariffs for the transportation of cars by car carriers. This was reported by the company's press service.  

RZD noted that the tariffs for railway transportation are less dependent on the rate of the national currency and are not as tied to the level of inflation as tariffs for transportation on public roads. Thus, car manufacturers will be able to forecast the cost of delivering cars to dealerships and include it in the price. 

The company emphasized that the current railway logistics infrastructure allows the delivery of cars using car carriers on the "last mile" or provides a "door-to-door" service. 

It was previously reported that Russian car manufacturers faced a shortage of car carriers. This happened in 2022 amid a reduction in the fleet of car carriers and the inability of foreign companies to operate in Russia. Among the reasons for this situation is also a shortage of staff - the country is lacking in drivers. In order to solve the problem, plans are underway to establish the production of domestic car carriers.

Earlier, RZD commented on the information about possible problems with foreign software on the "Sapsan" trains. The company noted that domestic software is being developed in Russia, but the current foreign one does not in any way affect the operation of the "Sapsans".
