State Corporation "Rostec" has completed state tests of the new 152mm self-propelled artillery gun (SAO) "Coalition-SV". The development of the Central Scientific Research Institute "Burevestnik" has already been called the "best howitzer in the world" due to its speed, efficiency and range.
"Coalition-SV" on the platform of the T-90 tank easily destroys artillery and mortar batteries, anti-aircraft and missile defense systems, command posts and field fortifications, armored vehicles and enemy manpower.
It is equipped with a modern 152 mm cannon 2A88 and hits targets at a distance of up to 70-80 km. "Coalition-SV" produces from 10 to 20 shots per minute.
It self-selects the type of shell, sets the detonator and aims the howitzer, as well as self-respond to any unplanned targets. To control the howitzer, only three people are needed, unlike other models, its processes are significantly automated.
The self-propelled howitzer "Coalition-SV" is not just another example of domestic artillery, but a significant milestone in its development. It is essentially a battle robot, distinguished by the high level of automation - the crew is located in an isolated armored capsule and remotely operates the combat vehicle from there.
It is expected that the production of the new "Coalition-SV" will be undertaken by Uraltransmash.
