Veon Holding (head office in Amsterdam) intends to leave the Russian business. According to the "Kommersant", citing three informed sources, 100% of PJSC "VimpelCom", providing telecommunications services under the Beeline brand, will go to JSC "Copernicus-invest 3". The company belongs to the CEO of "VimpelCom" Alexander Torbahov and several other top managers. According to an interlocutor of the publication, the deal does not involve a buyback of shares.
Veon did not respond to the media request. "VimpelCom" stated that the information about closing the deal with Veon is not true. The company did not give any other details.
The source of "Kommersant" insists that "VimpelCom" was valued at 370 billion rubles, while its net debt is 240 billion rubles. Therefore, the equity value is 130 billion rubles.
By the end of 2022, "VimpelCom"/Veon ranked 6th in the ranking of the largest foreign companies in Russia. Revenue exceeded 286 billion rubles.
