Growth in sales of new passenger cars was recorded in September 2023. Last month, 110.4 thousand cars were sold, which is 2.5 times more than in September 2022. This was reported by the Avtostat agency.
It is noted that in the 9 months of 2023, 717.3 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 51.1% more than in the same period last year.
In September, AvtoVAZ was in first place in terms of sales. The company sold almost 35 thousand cars. For the period from January to September, the domestic concern sold 225.6 thousand cars, which is 93.2% more than in 2022.
Chinese brands took second and third place: Chery with 12.1 thousand cars sold and Haval with 11 thousand cars. Geely made it into the top five - 9.2 thousand Russians showed interest in this brand, as well as Changan - 6.1 thousand motorists chose it.
