Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant, part of the Rostec's High Precision Systems holding, has developed a smart weapon control system. It is designed to combat drones and enemies hiding in shelters and behind debris obstacles.
As deputy director of the company Magomed Akhmatov told TASS, the installation sets the coordinates for the ammunition, optimal for its detonation with maximum damage to the enemy by fragments.
Now, as a prototype, the upgraded Soviet anti-aircraft installation ZU-23M2 is undergoing tests, they should be completed by the end of this year.
The AA gun with such a system can be controlled remotely by radio signal or cable. It consists of an optoelectronic block, a target tracking machine, a digital computing system and drives for the weapon. The system can enhance the lineup of weapons with calibers 30, 40 and 57 millimeters.
It was previously known that Russia is testing new fragmentary high-explosive shells "Telnik", produced at the Uralvagonzavod. They are also programmed for different options of smart detonation, which can be set in advance.
