Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant, part of the Rostec's “High-Precision Complexes” holding, has developed a “smart” weapon control system. It is designed to combat drones and an enemy hiding in shelters and behind obstacles for fragments.
As Magomed Akhmatov, Deputy General Director of the enterprise, told TASS, the installation sets the ammunition coordinates that are optimal for its detonation with maximum damage to the enemy with fragments.
Now, as a prototype, the modernized Soviet ZU-23M2 anti-aircraft gun is undergoing tests, they should be completed before the end of this year.
The anti-aircraft gun itself with such a system can be controlled remotely by radio signal or cable. It consists of an optoelectronic unit, a target tracking device, a digital computing system and drives for the gun. The system is capable of enhancing the line of guns with calibers of 30, 40 and 57 millimeters.
Earlier it became known that Russia is testing new high-explosive fragmentation shells “Telnik” produced at Uralvagonzavod. They are also programmed for different versions of smart detonation, which can be set in advance.
