Russia's largest arms concern, Kalashnikov, has launched a new facility for the production of guided artillery projectile parts. This event was timed to coincide with Gunsmith Day - a professional holiday for specialists in the defense industry.
For the new facility, which will be used to produce special equipment, more than 70 machines were ordered for milling and turning, as well as grinding equipment. Currently, the company has received 20 vertical milling machines with numerical control. Commissioning works have already been completed on them, and it is planned to manufacture test parts for guided projectiles. 10 operators who have undergone special training at the Production Training School of the concern will be involved in the work at the new site.
This is the second facility launched this year as part of high-precision production. Completion of construction and equipping works in the division is scheduled for January next year. The new facility will significantly expand the range and volume of products manufactured.
