Speaking at Moscow City Day in Zaryadye Park, Vladimir Putin spoke about plans for a significant expansion of the surface railway diameters from Moscow. In the future, they will reach Kaluga, Tula and other major cities near the capital.
We have decided to implement a large-scale program to modernize the entire Central Transport Hub. As a result, the diameters of the surface metro will be extended to Kaluga and Tula, to other major cities in the regions surrounding Moscow.
The priority project is the construction of high-speed railways between Moscow, Tver, Veliky Novgorod and St. Petersburg. After that, high-speed railway lines will extend between Moscow and other cities.
Such undertakings will bring our transport infrastructure to a completely new level, qualitatively improve the lives of millions of people, create a solid foundation for the economic growth of the country, and dozens of Russian cities will receive a powerful impetus to move forward.
