KamAZ has resumed mass production of trucks with Euro-5 engines: they are now produced in the same quantities as before the sanctions.
We have been making "Euro-5" for a long time, and the production of such trucks has not stopped in general. In accordance with the government's decision, due to the shortage of some components due to disrupted supplies from unfriendly countries, some trucks were produced with the "Euro-2" environmental standard. Now we have increased the production of trucks with "Euro-5" to pre-sanction levels.
As a reminder, Russian automakers were forced to temporarily switch to producing cars with Euro-2 engines last year due to sanctions restrictions and the cessation of imported component supplies. This was done not only by KamAZ, but also by AvtoVAZ. The other day, the Volga Automobile Plant announced the resumption of production of Lada Granta with Euro-5 engines.
KamAZ is the largest manufacturer of trucks in Russia. The main shareholders of the auto concern are the state corporation Rostec (47.1%), Avtoinvest (23.54%) and Daimler AG (15%).
