Valentin Kiselev, head of the Moscow representative office of the Crimean enterprise "Roboavia", said that the Black Sea Fleet may receive the Sarych-2 aircraft-type reconnaissance drone.
Currently, our Sarych-2 reconnaissance drone is undergoing state tests, and we have separately passed testing at the Black Sea Fleet. In addition, batches of these drones were purchased under special order and into some units funded by the government of Crimea.
According to the developer's representative, the drone's takeoff weight is 14 kg, the maximum flight altitude is 5 km, and the maximum speed is 108 km/h. "Sarych" is protected from electronic warfare systems.
Our development is equipped with a video camera and a thermal imager – it has a 60x zoom in HD format and an onboard computer installed on the UAV. Using machine vision, "Sarych" can detect enemy equipment at a distance of up to 2.5 kilometers. Also, the onboard computer itself tracks it and calculates its coordinates, greatly facilitating the work of the drone operator.
Interestingly, the drone has algorithms that allow it to return to base even in the event of a complete loss of communication.
The maximum flight time shown in the tests is 4 hours 22 minutes, although then "Sarych" flew practically empty, in ideal conditions of the training ground. In a real combat situation, with wind and enemy action, this drone will be able to fly for about 2.5 hours.
