Speaking today at the iMAF-2023 forum, AvtoVAZ representative Alexander Vinogradov – Head of the Department for Interaction with Federal Authorities and Industry Organizations – presented a presentation that indicated the launch date for the Lada Aura sedan.
«Start of production: in August-September of the business-class sedan (Lada Aura). The project will only be successful if there is confirmed stable demand», – it is written in the presentation.
As a reminder, Lada Aura is a version of the Lada Vesta "stretched" by 25 cm. This car will feature an interior made of genuine Russian-made leather and a modern audio system – better than the one in the Lada Vesta. Under the hood of the Aura will be a 1.8-liter engine with a capacity of 122 hp, which will work in conjunction with a CVT.
In light of Putin's decision to transfer Russian officials to domestic cars, the Lada Aura is being considered as one of the main candidates for this role. However, officials will have to make do with used foreign cars for another year.
