The holding company «High Precision Systems» reported that the latest Russian infantry fighting vehicle «Manul» will receive a more powerful engine - UTD-32T.
The product initially had a reserve for a possible increase in armor and payload, and modernization options will allow to expand the scope of its application. The machine planned to equip with a more powerful UTD-32T engine, which will be placed in the front part. This will provide a convenient entrance to the BMP for the crew and landing through the rear hatch, will facilitate loading of ammunition and cargoes.
Developers added that "Manul" can become a basic platform for various types of army machines: reconnaissance and command, self-propelled artillery installations, air defense systems, infantry carriers.
UTD-32T is a 10-cylinder diesel engine weighing almost 1 ton and with a power of 660 hp.
Earlier this month, the holding «High Precision Systems» stated that is considering the possibility of installing a new combat module "Era" on the "Manul", which includes a 57-millimeter automatic gun.
