TASS, citing a source in the rocket and space industry, reports on the preparation of a new generation intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) - "Bulava-M". It will replace the current ICBM - "Bulava".

The cooperation of the industry's enterprises, led by the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering, has the experience necessary for the design of the "Bulava-M" missile, which should replace the ICBM "Bulava"

According to the informant, one of the reasons why the current ICBM needs replacement is the aging of powders. "Bulava-M" will be created using new design solutions, so it will be less (or not at all) susceptible to this problem.

ICBM "Bulava" is in service with nuclear-powered strategic submarines of the "Borey"/"Borey-A" family of projects 955/955A. Currently, the Russian Navy has six nuclear-powered submarines of the "Borey" family in combat composition.
