The Russian data leak detection and darknet monitoring service DLBI (Data Leakage & Breach Intelligence) has shared interesting statistics: it turns out that the volume of data leaks about Russians in the first half of 2023 exceeded the total number of Russians.
According to analysts, in the first half of 2023, there were 60 major leaks containing 188.7 million customer records (e-mails or phone numbers of customers) of Russians. The leaders of the anti-rating are the SberSpasibo bonus program (52.4 million leaked records) and the Sportmaster chain (45.9 million records). Major leaks also include the Russian Electronic School educational platform (9 million records) and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (500,000 records).
As we can see from the list of leaks, Russian companies (both large and small) continue to ignore this problem, and regulators are limited to declarative tightening of legislation, which is not applied in practice.
