As reported by «Autostat», the company «Modern Transport Technologies» has started supplying dealers with commercial vehicles «GAZelle NN» and «Sobol NN» with a new diesel engine of 2.5 liters.
The engine is equipped with a cast iron cylinder block, a forged steel crankshaft, and an aluminum cylinder head. The engine weight is 220-228 kg depending on the modification. Hydraulic compensators are used in the design, and the timing drive is belt-driven, making the motor quite quiet.
The torque is 420 Nm, the power has increased by 7% compared to a 2.8 L engine, but did not exceed the tax-advantageous threshold of 150 HP. High efficiency is achieved due to a small displacement and high fuel injection pressure – 2000 bar.
